Sound Lounge 21 Festival, Birmingham

What a night it was on Sunday 4th August at the Town Hall in Birmingham! I attended the final day of the 3 day music festival Sound Lounge 21 and I was incredibly impressed with the talent that belongs to the West Midlands.
The atmosphere was amazing, it was so electrifying and it was interesting to listen to how each of the bands had their own unique sound. Minimum started off the night, then it was Friday Club with T a s t e following and New Killer Shoes playing an extraordinary closing set. I could have stayed there for more than three hours listening to the amazing music which was being played!
T a s t e who are from Redditch provided an alternative style of music that was really upbeat and had striking guitar solos, which I really enjoyed because I’m a huge fan of this type of genre so it’s good to go and see emerging bands, especially those that are from the local area. The festival finished on a high with New Killer Shoes providing an energised and powerful set as they were a heavier style than the previous acts.
Overall I’m glad that I went because I’ve now got to recognise some of the incredible talent that belongs to Birmingham and the West Midlands, I did not really know much about these local bands before but now I do and I shall definitely be downloading some of their music. It was also great to meet the members of the creative team and they have worked exceptionally hard to get people to attend the festival and recognise what original talent and unsigned bands are right on their doorstep. It was a delight to meet Jon Kings who is the front man of New Killer Shoes as well!
