The Assembly, Leamington Spa’s stunning 1000 capacity Art Deco venue will host a rare UK live gig by HipHop pioneers De La Soul on Tuesday 6th May.
De La Soul are set to perform at The Assembly as part of a short UK tour celebrating 25 years since the release of their seminal debut album, 3 Feet High and Rising.
One of the most artistic and creative hip-hop acts ever, the trio from Long Island have had an unquestionable influence since their the release of 3 Feet High and Rising in 1989.
Famous for their early hits ‘Me, Myself and I’ and ‘The Magic Number’, De La Soul – aka Posdnuos, Trugoy the Dove and Pasemaster Mase – have continued making music up to the present day, including two collaborations with Gorillaz (‘Superfast Jellyfish’ and ‘Feel Good Inc’, for which they won a Grammy).
We speak with General Manager of the Assembly Chris Lynch about the night.
