National Vintage Awards 2014
Written by katie_grimason on July 8, 2014
A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of attending the National Vintage Awards that took place at the stunning Fazeley Studios in Digbeth, Birmingham. The awards were presented by The Vintage Directory and the evening was full of glitz and glamour, which made me feel like I had stepped back in time to the eras of the 1940s and the 1950s! It was a really good opportunity for me to go out and network with such fascinating people who have businesses and companies that are centred around vintage fashion goods.
I got a free glass of bubbly, there was a sit down high tea, cakes and sweet treats for the guests. There was also some spectacular musical performances by Miss Cherry Bomb, Lianna Hayes and male quartet Puttin’ On The Blitz who went on to win Best Musical Performer. Lola Lamour was simply fabulous as the award’s presenter as she provided comicality and musical performances in the intervals which really hyped up the audience. People and contenders had travelled from all over the country to attend the awards and it was good to see independent and vintage fashion businesses as well as performers, models and bloggers supported by such a classy awards ceremony; they really deserved it.
A special thank you goes to Kate Molloy of The Vintage Directory for letting me get involved in the event, it is much appreciated!
