Ian Rose

What is your role at Radio Warwickshire?

I originally got involved as a blogger and still love doing that (I must do more!!).  Since the start of 2014 I’ve presented my own show – ‘That Was Then This Is Now’ on Wednesdays and Sundays.

What do you like most about community radio?

I love the opportunity to think global in terms of what we play and keep it local in terms of what we say.  There are no commercials either which means we can play GREAT music!

Which bands would headline your fantasy music festival?

This is hard to choose.  Currently it would have to be Kate Bush and if you check out my show you know I love Judie Tzuke and Kristyna Myles.  Coldplay and Oasis could be the support acts!!  In 1985 I went Live Aid and I don’t thinks there has ever been a better festival

What would you name the autobiography of your life?

Probably – That Was Then This Is Now – it seems to work!

When you have 30 minutes of free-time, how do you pass the time?

Listen to music or read lots – I’m currently into Mark Billingham, who is fantastic!

What’s the #1 most played song on your iPod/MP3 player?

Clean Bandit – Rather Be – 713 plays!!

Name of the show you present

That Was Then This Is Now

Look at the history of bands and music and see how the past has driven the future.  Love to play lots of new music and see where it has come from.
