The team at Radio Warwickshire review of the new James Bond film, SkyFall.
The film has all of the conventions expected, with a twist in the character villein, who is complete comedy with a sinister twist…
Skyfall, on one level, is basically a massive reassurance job. More than anything, it wants us to know that it is a classic Bond film. Q has returned. The baddie’s got a properly terrible haircut. There’s an old Aston Martin.
The action roams the globe from Turkey to London, then off to Shanghai, before ending up in Scotland for a splendid climax.
There are more acting scenes than we’re used to in Bond films, but because of the quality of the cast and gravity of the ideas being discussed they don’t make for a long winded plot.
Should you pay your pennies at the cinema to see this spectacular? we would recommend Yes….The cinematography alone deserves the big screen treatment!
The action roams the globe from Turkey to London, then off to Shanghai, before ending up in Scotland for a splendid climax that’s like Home Alone with an unlimited budget.
