CLA GameFair 2013 Ragley Hall, Alcester, Warwickshire

www.southsidebroadcasting.comOn Saturday 20th July I had the pleasure of attending the second day of the CLA GameFair which was a three day event held at the Ragley Hall estate in Warwickshire and with the weather being sunny and warm and covering 500 acres, it was definitely something that was not to be missed.

The CLA GameFair was my second visit this year to a country show, because in June I visited the two day Lincolnshire Show so it was interesting to experience and see how the shows differed. There were some performances which I had previously seen at the Lincolnshire Show such as Jive Pony, however it was still a delight to watch them perform equine gymnastics again and it was also lovely to speak with Rebecca Townsend who is part of the Jive Pony team. As well as seeing them perform, I also got to meet a Zorse for the first time who was adorable! If you would like to find out more about Jive Pony, what they do and where they are next then take a look here:

The event provided a fantastic platform for business’ to promote themselves and to gain the interest of the public. They ranged from art, craft, home accessories and a lot of fashion; there was a wide variety of things and it was guaranteed that there was something for everyone.

I was surprised by the amount of stands which were dedicated to fishing and after watching a lesson in fly fishing I can see why it is so appealing, as it requires skill and you have to master it very well.002

Overall I was really impressed with the event and got to learn things whilst I was there such as land ownership and topics which have an impact on agriculture. Another thing what I’ve learned is how important social media is to an event such as the CLA GameFair because it highlights different things that are going on at the show, which will then spark people’s interest.

Next year the event will be held at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire, so check out for information and also follow them on Twitter: @TheGameFair.
