We caught up with Twin Bears yesterday to interview them about their recent selection as a finalist in the Eufest sponsored competition, All About the Music:
Some words from the band:
We formed January 2012 and have been gigging since March 2012. Last year saw sell out Sheffield’s O2 Academy 2, we had one of our songs played on SOCCER AM, Q Music Radio, Amazing Radio and many BBC Radio stations. We take loads of influence from the “bigger” sounding bands, such as TRIBES, Maccabees and older bands such as Rolling Stones and The Jam. We are a straight up rock and roll band, we feel we have a big sounding rock and roll vibe – almost festival esq sound, which we believe is perfect for us.
Mike (vox) Matt (drummer) are brothers and myself (Jamie guitar/vox) and Jack (bass/vox) are friends of both Mike and Matt. We all just got together threw friendships and the love of the same music. We have released 3 EPs since forming and recently 6th April supported TRIBES at Plug in Sheffield. We have worked with the producer from Arctic Monkeys first album on our most recent demo and are due to again at the start of May when we have a 3 track promo CD coming out. We take our band very seriously and are trying our best to produce something different, somethign we really love.
In an exclusive tie-up with Croatia’s biggest open-air music festival, eufest presents the live final of All About the Music, a stonking competition with a truly unmissable prize – the chance to rock the crowd at Croatia’s INmusic Festival in June.
Five of the UK’s best unsigned bands will be competing to win this truly awesome prize, and the winner will be chosen at the final at The Assembly in Leamington on 25 April, where top local band The Antics will be headlining the evening.
The latest mixtape by @lianekate features some of the hottest new music from around Warwickshire. If you love listening to the raw music of up and coming musicians, this is a must listen mixtape (and please share the link with people you know, let’s help these artists get their music heard). Peace.
Described by one fan as “heavier than heavy water in a Norwegian fjord”, Star Tiger came together in 2009 with guitarist and vocalist Craig and bassist Sharon initially working on songs as a two-piece before adding powerhouse drummer Mike to their ranks. I recently caught up with Star Tiger to find out a little more about the band and their music. Progressive and Experimental Metal is a not a normal genre of music for me, which nade it a perfect fit for The Musical Journey Show.
