We speak with Piers Taylor Chartered Architect, former Studio master at the Architectural Association & co-presenter of ‘The House that £100k Built’ and award –winning RIBA architect

Ahead if this weekends NEC The Homebuilding, Renovating and Home Improvement Show 27th to 30th March we speak with Piers Taylor, Chartered Architect, a former Studio master at the Architectural Association, Design Fellow at the University of Cambridge, a founding director at Mitchell Taylor Workshop and a co-presenter of hit BBC2 series The House that £100K Built.

pierce_taylorPiers Taylor also founded Invisible Studio an innovative award winning architectural practice. It aims to be a different organisation from a conventional practice. Their work encompasses a number of seminal buildings from ecologically sensitive self builds through to schools, public buildings and large scale urban environments, which have won a plethora of awards and been published widely and internationally. Much of their work is low cost and they believe passionately that design is not a luxury add on, but a process by which the most is extracted from the least through intelligent and clever thinking. They have particular expertise with timber, and have close relationships with the UK’s leading timber engineers and scientists.
Michael Holmes (Editor-in-Chief of Homebuilding & Renovating magazine)

Will also be presenting at this weekends event – “The allocation of a £150m fund in the budget to develop a scheme to give custom builders a right to a plot from councils, will be welcomed by those who want to build an individually designed home but cannot find a building plot,” says Michael Holmes of Homebuilding & Renovating magazine.

The event is on all weekend at – NEC, Birmingham, www.homebuildingshow.co.uk
